Going to buy Guild Wars
Hello,
I'm interested in buying one of the games but my friend in USA can get a copy of Guild Wars cheap, and now to the question I'm living in Sweden (Europe), can I use the key to my european account? Are Guild Wars keys US/EU restricted? Or I can make a now account that's not the problem but I want to play with my friends here in Sweden/Europe, is this possible? And if that's possible which one of the Guild Wars do you recommend? |

No, they are not restricted by area of purchase. You can play on any server with your friends and transfer to another without any costs or penalties.
I have enjoyed all the campaigns, but if you only have one, make sure it is one your friends have also so you can play together. |

Ohh thanks, that's awesome.
Yeah, but my friends have all games of Guild Wars. :P Which one is a good starter? Original, Nightfall or Faction? My friends will go after what game I get. :P |

It's really hard to say as everyone has different preferences. Read the sticky at the top of this forum http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...t10102502.html which explains each of the campaigns.
Money wise, buying the Complete Collection would be your best bet. It is sold in Europe and includes all the campaigns plus the Eye of the North expansion. |

Might as well get the trilogy, it's pretty cheap.

Should just seek out the trilogy, its more cost effective and all the games are good.

The complete collection is your best bet. The only difference will all your characters will start in a European district instead of an American. You can buy the American complete collection and have your friend send you the serial so you may have the convenience of starting any PvE/PvP characters in the most active district.

You are free to change districts at will even in the beginner areas. Just click on the district dropdown in the upper left corner and select Options, this will show you the selection of servers and districts.
When setting up your game you are asked for a home district. This is now mainly to localize your online store and support. At one time, this restricted your server choices, but ArenaNet changed to unrestricted server changes some time ago. |

Okey, thanks everyone!
Im asking this because I can get guild Wars for like $10 in USA by a friend, but here in Sweden it's cost like ~$20. I know this isn't much but who know's I might not really like the game or don't play it so much. :P Update: I just bought Guild Wars Trilogy for ~$20, that was really cheap imo. Here in Sweden for Trilogy cost between $30-40. :P Last edited by Dahlis87; Jun 21, 2011 at 12:37 PM // 12:37.. Reason: bought |
